PROGRAM DETAILS
Have you ever wondered what happens behind the scenes of a performing arts venue? Does the world of production hold a unique appeal? In one week, learn about technical production from the professional staff of the Hylton and guest faculty. Topics covered in Bootcamp I include essential skills of technical production; basics of stage lighting, rigging and fly system operation; sound equipment operation for reinforcement and effects; and good practices for safe and efficient crew operations. Continue with Bootcamp II to learn techniques in the practice of hanging, focusing, and programming lights; setting the stage with platforms, flats, and other scenic elements, and flying drops and drapes; setting up audio visual equipment, including mics, monitors, and projectors; and providing technical, design, and strike support for a professional performance - culminating in providing technical and design support for an actual show!

Classes include five four-hour daily sessions per week. Long pants and closed toe shows are required. Work gloves are recommended.
